Studio Policies & Frequently Asked Questions

Clear expectations help every student thrive. Below you'll find the studio's policies and answers to common questions about lessons, enrollment, and more.

Studio Policies

Tuition & Reserving Time

Securing Your Spot: Paying tuition secures an exclusive, recurring time slot in my teaching schedule.

Upfront Commitment: Because my availability is highly limited and this time is strictly held for your child, tuition is collected upfront.

Mutual Respect: This structure ensures a mutual commitment to your reserved time and encourages families to treat lessons as a priority.

Attendance & Make-Up Lessons

The Reality of Missed Lessons: When a lesson is missed, that reserved time has still been utilized.

The "Double Cost" of Make-Ups: Offering a make-up lesson requires me to forfeit a second, separate time slot—doubling the lost opportunity to accommodate other dedicated students on the waitlist.

No Guaranteed Make-Ups: Because of this, make-up lessons cannot be provided on demand. They are offered strictly at my discretion based on rare schedule availability.

Studio Roster: Families who frequently miss their reserved times or regularly request schedule adjustments may be asked to relinquish their spot in the studio.

Payment

Tuition is due at the start of each semester. We accept payment via Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, and PayPal. Payment details are provided upon enrollment confirmation.

Practice Expectations & The Parent's Role

Tailored Routines: Classical and RCM-track students require a rigorous, disciplined daily practice schedule, while recreational students focus on steady, relaxed progress.

The Parent's Role: For younger beginners, active parental involvement is essential. I ask that parents sit with their young children while they practice to act as an "at-home coach."

Building Good Habits: Perfect practice makes perfect, but imperfect practice creates bad habits.

Materials Requirements

Lesson Materials: Students must bring their assigned books, a notebook, and a pencil to each lesson.

Home Equipment: A well-maintained acoustic or digital piano is required for effective home practice.
